Ryan is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, with degrees from Troy University (B.S. in Business Administration) and Emory University (Master in Divinity). He had additional training in several areas of pastoral care, including PTSD and suicide intervention; study programs in Tijuana, Baja California and Washington, D.C.; and mentoring and coaching training for local pastors and churches. His prior community service involves both fire/rescue and law enforcement chaplaincies, as well as certifications as a firefighter and instructor in the state of Alabama.
Ryan's home church is First United Methodist Church of Wewahitchka, Florida, where he grew up, was baptized, and answered the call to ministry. He enjoys reading, community service, and traveling to learn about history.
Rev. Erin Bevis
Rev. Erin Bevis is the Associate Pastor in charge of children's and youth ministries. Erin s was born and raised in the United Methodist Church (mostly at Pensacola FUMC, where her grandfather was a 50 year member). As a lay person she served in many different leadership positions at Saint Paul’s UMC in Tallahassee, FL, including youth and young adult ministry, women’s ministry, and as a certified lay speaker. During her time in Tallahassee she did graduate studies in Developmental Psychology and worked at a community-based mental health center providing social services to people experiencing mental health crises. Her desire to follow God’s call in her life led her to pursue vocational ministry in a second career.
Rev. Bevis received her M.Div. from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. While a student she served part-time appointments at two UM churches south of Atlanta. Since graduation and returning home to the Alabama-West Florida Conference she has served as pastor to the Bermuda Charge, and Ebenezer and McIntosh UMC. She is married to John Bevis, and they welcomed their first child in the fall of 2021. Rev. Bevis is passionate about teaching, worship, and working with the rest of the body of Christ to spread the love and grace of God in creative ways.
Janis serves as our choir director. Each week she coordinates special musical performances by our ensembles and chancel choir. The music ministry is one of the most active ministries of our church. Janis and her husband Wayne live in Bonifay. She is a retired elementary school principal, former teacher, and a member of Bonifay Woman's Club.
There's so much to say we don't know where to start.
